What resonates with you most about H.O.M.E.’s mission?

I am delighted to serve on the board of an organization that “gets things done”. It is relatively facile to analyze problems, point towards likely solutions but it takes far greater tenacity to implement holistic housing solutions. A lot about H.O.M.E.’s work resonates with me, both personally and professionally. I am not quite sure where to begin but I think what echoes most is that H.O.M.E. places generating joy and connections at the forefront of its values. Too often, what the low-income elderly among us need is a place to call home but equally critical are the human connections that a physical space makes possible. That H.O.M.E. organizes its programs on furthering these connections and does so based on who they are rather than what they need, is truly noteworthy. I look forward to strengthening H.O.M.E.’s contributions among Chicago’s seniors.
