ENGAGEing in your own well being

This month, we celebrate Older American’s Month and encourage all of our community members to “Engage at Every Age” to enrich physical, mental, and emotional well-being at each stage of life.  Being active, participating in social activities, sharing wisdom with members of another generation, and taking steps to ensure mental and physical health are great examples of how to be engaged.

Here's one thing you should do to prepare for a health crisis

If you had a medical emergency that required hospitalization, which hospital would you want to go to? If you needed rehabilitation services after an illness or injury, where would you want to have those services performed? Close to home? Close to family and friends so that they could visit you often?

These are all important questions that few of us have answers for.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day gives us an opportunity to let the special people in our lives know that we care whether it is with candy and flowers, a handmade card, or a simple declaration of “Happy Valentine’s Day”! It makes us feel good to love and be loved. 

But what about those who find themselves alone on a special day like Valentine’s Day (and on not-so-special ordinary days)?
