Tribute gifts are a thoughtful alternative to flowers or presents. A gift to H.O.M.E. in honor of a loved one will last more than a few days or weeks, and will not be forgotten by the recipient or the seniors whose lives are changed by the gifts.
In Honor Gifts
Honor gifts are often given on special occasions, such as birthdays, graduations, or anniversaries. They are also appropriate gifts for holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. You can give a gift in honor of a loved one, colleague, or service provider to recognize their impact on your life. A special acknowledgement letter will be sent to the honoree notifying them of your thoughtfulness.
In Memory Gifts
Memorial gifts are a meaningful and lasting way to celebrate the memory of a loved one with a gift that will help low-income seniors in Chicago. Such a gift will serve as a permanent reminder of the impact this person made during their lifetime. When a memorial gift is received by H.O.M.E., a letter is sent to the donor to acknowledge the gift, as well as to anyone that the donor indicates should receive an acknowledgment letter. This may include the family or friends of those who have passed away.
In Lieu Gifts
Are you getting married or celebrating a birthday or other major milestone? Consider asking your guests make a donation to H.O.M.E. in lieu of a present. You can tell your family and friends about your wish through email or a personalized card by asking them to write your name and address in the notes or memo section of their gift. Or you can set up a crowdfunding page.
