Many seniors find it physically challenging get to and from grocery stores to purchase food and medication. Other limitations, such as inclement weather, having to carry packages, and the expense of public transportation, often add to this burden. Additionally, being able to shop in larger supermarkets gives senior shoppers a better selection and more competitive prices than small neighborhood stores.

Since 1991, H.O.M.E. offers free grocery shopping transportation to residents of senior citizen buildings in Chicago. Currently, we have two handicapped-accessible shopping buses working five days a week to provide this service. Our courteous bus drivers pick up the elderly at 66 senior buildings, drive them to and from local super markets, and help them with their grocery bags.
"I just want to thank you for the service you provide every two weeks to our Jewel store. I especially want to thank you for our driver, Alice. She is so kind and so patient with all of our seniors. She is really a blessing to all of us and just want you to know how much we appreciate her."
