Upkeep and Repair Services Program

 

 

 

 

Our three handymen and two volunteers do minor indoor repairs in the homes of low-income seniors. During fiscal year 2009, which ended September 30 they completed 1,243 repairs in 599 households.

Plumbing, electrical and repair of doors and locks make up about 40 percent of repairs. Installation of bathroom grab bars, smoke and carbon monoxide dectors also help keep the eldely safe in their homes. Seniors are asked to reimburse H.O.M.E. for parts but the labor is free.
