Catholic Heart WorkCamp helps H.O.M.E.

For the second year in a row Catholic Heart WorkCamp volunteered with H.O.M.E to help us serve our clients out in the community and perform important work at our buildings and office.  During the week of June 7-11 the camp provided 70 volunteers and all the paint and supplies to complete the work that needed to be done.

The groups completed painting in 12 homes totaling approximately 36 plus rooms and helped each senior with other minor tasks and great companionship while in their homes.  They also helped with spring cleaning at the our Nathalie Salmon House and participated in painting, cleaning, gardening and other tasks at another of our properties, Blackhawk Manor.  Finally we were fortunate enough to have a group at our office/warehouse on Roosevelt Road to help us prepare for our move in a few weeks, the work they did put us ahead of schedule in that preparation and took a lot of stress off all of us here in the office as we were wondering how we would get it all done.

I have heard back from many of the seniors that received help from the WorkCamp volunteers and the comments were full of high praise.  They were in awe of the depth of the character and spirituality of all the young adults they had the pleasure of meeting.

On behalf of our clients and the H.O.M.E. organization we wish to thank all the participants of Catholic Heart WorkCamp and wish them all the luck and good fortune in their future endeavors, and we look forward too meeting the new faces next year.
